needs a candidate with strong experience in Linux-based embedded application development, device UI development, and firmware integration who can quickly contribute to our ongoing projects.
Responsibilities
- Design and build application-layer software for embedded Linux platforms
- Create and maintain on-device user interfaces and end-user workflows
- Bridge application code with underlying firmware and hardware subsystems
- Build out device-to-cloud connectivity, including telemetry and data pipelines
- Engineer robust logging, health monitoring, and failure-recovery systems
- Contribute to device orchestration, configuration management, and lifecycle tooling
- Diagnose and resolve issues spanning software, firmware, and hardware layers
- Partner with cross-functional engineering teams on system architecture and integration
Qualifications
- Solid background in embedded Linux systems development
- Proficient in C++, Python, or comparable systems-level programming languages
- Hands-on experience building application software for physical/hardware devices
- Background developing embedded or touchscreen device interfaces
- Track record integrating software with firmware or embedded hardware components
- Comfortable with Linux internals - services, processes, and system-level debugging
- Working knowledge of APIs, networking, and cloud-connected device architectures
- Exposure to Qt/QML or similar embedded UI toolkits a plus
- Familiarity with serial communication protocols (USB, UART, SPI, I2C)
- Experience with AWS or other IoT/cloud-connected architectures a plus
- Knowledge of Docker, OTA update mechanisms, or fleet/device management tools preferred
- Sharp problem-solving instincts and troubleshooting ability
- Self-directed, with the ability to own technical tasks end-to-end
- Comfort operating in startup or fast-paced product environments a plus
