Job description
Title: Embedded Software Developer
Location: Cedar Rapids, IA
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Developer to develop and support real-time embedded software solutions for aerospace and avionics applications. The ideal candidate will have expertise in DO-178 compliant software development, embedded programming, and avionics communication protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop embedded software based on low-level software requirements.
- Build, test, and deploy real-time embedded software for target hardware platforms.
- Support system integration, verification, and validation activities.
- Troubleshoot software issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams on resolutions.
- Participate in software design reviews, code reviews, and technical leadership activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
- 10+ years of experience in embedded software development.
- Strong knowledge and application of DO-178B/DO-178C standards.
- Proficiency in C, C++, and Python programming languages.
- Experience with real-time embedded systems and object-oriented software design.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of ARINC 429, ARINC 618, VDL Mode 2, TCP/IP, and ATN OSI protocols.
- Experience with aerospace or avionics software development.
- Understanding of aircrew Human-Machine Interface (HMI) design principles.
- Strong system integration, testing, and debugging experience.
- Demonstrated technical leadership and customer-facing experience.
