Salary: $90000 -$100000 per year
Duties / Responsibilities
- Design, develop, integrate, and test embedded software for Remote Control and Autonomy systems used in machine applications.
- Define and support system requirements, architecture, interfaces, and end-to-end feature traceability.
- Develop and maintain embedded software using Embedded C/C++ and MATLAB/Simulink.
- Support embedded system development in RTOS environments.
- Perform system-level integration across software, hardware, controls, vision systems, and communication networks.
- Execute system verification and validation (V&V), troubleshooting, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
- Work with communication protocols and networks including CAN and Ethernet.
- Analyze system and network behavior using tools such as CANoe, CANalyzer, and Wireshark.
- Review and interpret electrical schematics while troubleshooting system-level issues.
- Support functional safety, FMEA, product quality, and software release activities.
- Participate in HIL/SIL and automated testing activities as applicable.
- Utilize AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot and Microsoft Copilot to improve development, testing, and documentation efficiency.
- Collaborate with Remote Control system engineers and global cross-functional teams to deliver robust, production-ready solutions.
- Participate as part of a 7–8-person development team focused on new Remote Control and Autonomy technologies.
Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent technical field from an accredited institution.
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in Systems Engineering, Embedded Software Development, System Integration, and/or Validation.
- Relevant internship experience may be considered as part of overall experience.
- Strong hands-on background in embedded software and system-level development is required.
- Candidates whose experience is primarily or exclusively software validation/testing without embedded development and system integration experience may not be suitable for this position.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of Embedded C/C++ development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink for embedded control system development.
- 5+ years of embedded systems development experience, including RTOS-based systems.
- 3–5 years of system integration experience.
- Strong understanding of requirements engineering, system architecture, interfaces, system integration, and V&V.
- Experience working with RTOS, CAN, Ethernet, and embedded electronic control systems.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and troubleshoot hardware/software integration issues.
- Hands-on experience with CANoe, CANalyzer, Wireshark, Git, and modern software development and testing tools.
- Experience performing technical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across software, hardware, and communication interfaces.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot or Microsoft Copilot.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Self-motivated and able to learn new technologies quickly while working effectively within a global engineering team.
- Ability to work onsite in an office-based environment.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Autonomy, Robotics, Remote Control, or Machine Control Systems is highly preferred. Familiarity with AUTOSAR, Functional Safety, FMEA, HIL/SIL, DOORS/Jama, vision systems, and automated test frameworks would be beneficial.
