As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will be part of a global engineering team developing advanced embedded control solutions for Carrier’s products. This role plays a key part in designing and developing firmware that integrates embedded systems with cloud, mobile, and IoT technologies to deliver innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop embedded software for Carrier’s equipment and refrigeration control systems
- Design and implement firmware solutions for embedded platforms
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including systems, hardware, validation, and manufacturing
- Participate in Agile software development processes
- Lead or support development projects and technical initiatives
- Develop prototype and test software for validation purposes
- Write software specifications and test plans
- Participate in design reviews, code inspections, and risk analysis activities
- Support system integration and ensure compliance with requirements
- Balance responsibilities between sustaining and new product development projects
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in embedded software development
- Strong programming skills in C and/or C++
- Experience working with Real‑Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
- Knowledge of communication protocols (CAN, I2C, SPI, RS232, RS485)
- Experience in software architecture, debugging, and design patterns
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Nice to Have
- Experience with connectivity protocols (WiFi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, Z‑Wave)
- Experience with Embedded Linux
- Experience with ARM microcontrollers
- Knowledge of configuration and version control systems (e.g., GitHub)
- Experience with Model‑Based Development (IBM Rhapsody, MATLAB/Stateflow)
- Experience in HVAC or refrigeration systems
