Job Title : Trainee IT Engineer, Graduate IT Engineer, Entry Level IT Engineer
Location : Adelaide, Sydney, and Melbourne
Training Length: 8 weeks (fully paid)
Contract length: Initial phase 14 months (includes 2 months of training) followed by a pathway to full time employment with leading IT Services organisation DXC.
Required Education : Some IT qualification – degree related, diploma or IT qualifications.

This is a unique opportunity to fast track and develop your IT career.
It starts with 8 weeks of dedicated training focused on Mainframe Application development and technologies. The Mainframes infrastructure will continue to support mission critical environments including hospitals, travel, and banking for a long time to come.
On successful completion of training, you’ll be deployed to work internally as part of the team at DXC Technology in Adelaide / Melbourne/ Sydney.
Over 12 months you’ll continue to develop your skills and experience while making a key contribution in support of DXC and their clients. Work may involve Mainframe Applications development, maintenance or modernization.
On completion of 12 months, you’ll have access to long term career pathways with DXC Technology.
What experience and mindset do you need to be considered?
- Ideally some IT accreditations and qualification. That might be a completed degree, or some entry level IT applications development qualifications.
- Experience of Application development is required. Python / Shell scripting knowledge is necessary.
- Exposure to Cloud development, Data & Analytics will be preferred.
- Preferred to have Work experience in Application Development and who want to Transition to Mainframe Application Development
- If you are someone who has Work experience on older technologies like working on RPG (AS/400), Visual Basic / ASP or .Net (older instances), Delphi, Oracle Forms / Reports, but not limited to, and looking to have a stable career in Mainframe you maybe a good fit.
- If you have work experience as an Applications Database Administrator and good knowledge of SQLs or an Applications Testing professional and looking to transition to Application Development role , you will be considered.
- You might have work experience in entry level IT roles including – internships, applications development, applications maintenance, application migration to a newer technology or applications support roles.
- Communication with customers and colleagues is a key part of this role. So, comfort communicating, listening, and collaborating is a must.
- You might be at the start of your career, but you also might be making a career change later in life.
- You need to be curious and be able to encounter unfamiliar technologies, applications, and situations, figure them out, and provide solutions that match both our clients' and our company's needs
