The Senior IT Engineer Server & Cloud is responsible for delivering stable, secure, and efficient server, backup & recovery, virtualization layer and cloud infrastructure services within the Conti Tech environment; supporting on‑prem and cloud workloads; ensuring compliance with internal standards; and contributing to modernization, cost optimization and transformation initiatives while collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners.
Responsibilities Provide advanced support for Windows and Linux servers (physical and virtual via VMware ESXi) Consult customers on the optimal hardware setup and execute or coordinate implementation taking into account strategic, financial and customer targets Main contact person for one or multiple services: Windows Server, Linux Server, Oracle & SQL Databases, Storage Platforms, Backup & Recovery, AWS & Azure Cloud, Kubernetes Containers, terminal server, Virtualization Layer, on-prem Data Center Contribute to secure cloud architectures, consolidation, standardization and harominzation of platforms Automate security controls and configuration management Develop and maintain runbooks and automated workflows (Power Shell, Bash, Python, Terraform) Perform critical installations or upgrades in collaboration with L2/L3 service partners Occasional work on incident, problem, and change management processes according to defined SLAs and compliance requirements. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related equivalent work experience. Excellent English skills applied in a business context Certification is a plus: VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Azure/AWS Solutions Architect Expert, or equivalent experience At least 3 years in enterprise IT infrastructure, compute platforms, or cloud operations.
