About The Role
Ogury is looking for a senior engineering manager to lead a distributed team of six seasoned cloud infrastructure and DevOps engineers. The position is open to remote applicants based in France.
The DevOps team operates a large-scale, highly available cloud infrastructure that handles over 50 billion API calls daily. It also provides a platform for all development teams to provision, build, deploy, and monitor their applications.
Our tech stack includes AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), Kafka, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Prometheus/Thanos, and Datadog.
What You Will Be Doing
- Report to the Senior Director of Software Engineering.
- Allocate 50% of your time to people management—coaching, hiring, team development, and performance management—and the remaining 50% to hands‑on technical work.
- Serve as the people manager for a distributed team of six engineers located across France, Europe, and Asia.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to continually improve Ogury’s infrastructure and developer platform.
- Participate in the team’s on‑call rotations (one full week every six weeks).
- Contribute to key technical initiatives, such as the rollout of ArgoCD.
- Continuously monitor and optimise infrastructure cost, enforcing FinOps best practices.
- Manage the team’s scope of work, ensuring system maintenance, adherence to project timelines, optimal resource allocation, and delivery of high‑quality outputs.
- Encourage a culture of innovation by identifying and driving technical initiatives in partnership with team members.
- Advocate for and implement best practices in engineering to enhance efficiency, quality, stability, and scalability of the platform.
About You
- Leadership and team management experience with diverse engineering teams, strong ownership, and a positive mindset.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and project‑management tools, with experience executing technical roadmaps.
- Hands‑on experience with major cloud providers (AWS, GCP) and Kubernetes.
- Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code, CI/CD, and monitoring tools at scale.
- Proficiency in English.
