YOUR POSITION WITHIN THE ORGANIZATION:
The Office of Jeremy Rifkin is a mission-driven organization. The Executive Assistant/Program Manager will work closely with Mr. Rifkin and his team to organize, develop, and implement Third Industrial Revolution sustainability plans and initiatives to address climate change and usher in green economies for cities, regions, and countries. The Executive Assistant/Program Manager will assist the Chief of Staff in keeping our projects on schedule and will also engage in our office research initiatives. The Executive Assistant/Program Manager will learn every aspect of running a boutique consulting firm while working on climate change and sustainability issues at the highest levels of government and industry. Other day-to-day duties include:
Administration & Project Coordination:
Help organize office projects and ensure that our distributed global team stays connected and on-track, as well as appropriate follow-up with clients
Coordinate and schedule the Presidents speaking engagements, lectures, presentations, meetings and appointments, including travel and logistics
Manage the Presidents calendar and occasionally help out with personal appointments, as required
Responsible for general office administrative tasks, including ordering office supplies, vendor relations, managing invoices, and office organization
Coordinate with our offices interns each semester on their research and build out of our in-house network
Research:
Conduct qualitative research on variety of environmental and climate-related topics for regional and national development plans around the world and assist in the editing Mr. Rifkins books
Brief our team on the latest research and market trends in diverse industries and prepare detailed background information
Maintain office database with all research materials
Edit reports and studies for local, regional and national governments
Communication:
Serve as first point of contact and gatekeeper for office inquiries
Oversee relations with press and media
Contribute to marketing and media campaigns
Directly work with the President to draft talking points, correspondence, etc.
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
Masters Degree related to Climate Change, Ecology, Environment, Economics, Energy, Urban Planning, Infrastructure Deployment, Governance, Political Science, International Relations, and affiliated fields. One year relevant work experience is preferred. Knowledge of public policy in the European Union, the United States, and Asian nations will be taken into account.
Experience with the full MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook. Knowledge of a foreign languages is a plus (please specify).

Superior attention to details in editing, transcribing, citations and grammar
Excellent ability to organize electronic and hard-copy research, written materials, and historical records
Interdisciplinary qualitative research experience
Ability to manage projects and prioritize tasks while working with deadlines
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced office environment
Capacity to take initiative and solve problems and work collaboratively with other staff members and the President
Outstanding verbal communications and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of contacts and at multiple organizational levels
SALARY AND BENEFITS: This is a full-time in-person position. The work day runs from 8:00am to 5:30pm. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications; Benefits include vacation, sick-leave, fully paid health, vision, and dental insurance, Metro Smart Benefits, and profit-sharing after 24 months of employment. We offer a small, friendly, and dynamic atmosphere and are one block from the Metro station in Bethesda, Maryland, located in the DMV region.
