The duties of this position include:
- Developing, implementing, and managing programs, databases, and information systems related to medication, including participation in the development of disease management and population health programs.
- Analyzing and designing reporting tools that assess service impacts on patient care, quality of care, cost containment, and performance.
- Designing and coordinating the implementation of decision analysis tools, including the development of outcome instruments (quantitative and qualitative).
- Participating in and developing policies, procedures, audit systems, etc. to determine trends, produce data, and monitor performance for the Pharmacy Service.
- Actively evaluating short and long-term needs of pharmacy software and hardware.
- Serving as an active member of the Healthcare Technology and Medical Informatics Committee.
- Participating in Peer Review, Root Cause Analysis, Adverse Event Reporting and Review, and other related programs or practices that improve the quality and safety of patient care.
- Serving as an educator and trainer for VA St. Louis for Veterans Information System and Technology Architecture (VistA) packages, FileMan reporting, Pyramid Analytics, SQL testing, and related reporting tools and software packages.
- Participating in the precepting and mentoring of pharmacy residents and students.
Work Schedule: Full-time, 0800-1630
