We are seeking a Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer to join a fast-paced engineering team developing next-generation smart cameras. In this role, you will design and develop embedded firmware for solar-powered, cellular-connected devices while contributing to the evolution of the embedded platform architecture. Working closely with hardware, AI, software, and product teams, you will help deliver high-performance, reliable, and scalable embedded solutions from prototype to production.
Main Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for smart camera platforms using C and Embedded Linux.
- Contribute to the architecture of the embedded platform, including low-level software layers, device drivers, system services, and hardware abstraction.
- Design and implement interfaces between firmware, hardware, and software components, including AI, imaging, networking, and security modules.
- Integrate and validate new SoCs, image sensors, peripherals, and hardware components while ensuring system stability and compatibility.
- Perform hands-on debugging, instrumentation, performance analysis, and validation using hardware prototypes in a laboratory environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize system performance, reliability, power consumption, and overall product quality throughout the development lifecycle.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in embedded firmware development with expert-level proficiency in C and Embedded Linux (kernel-space development).
- Strong experience with Yocto or custom Linux distributions, including image creation, BSP customization, library integration, and platform adaptation.
- Solid expertise in low-level embedded development, including device drivers, memory management, boot processes, and hardware communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, GPIO, and RTC .
- Deep understanding of embedded processors, microcontrollers, SoCs, and hardware/software integration within complex embedded systems.
- Proven ability to work autonomously while integrating new features into large, complex codebases and solving challenging technical problems.
- Experience with image sensors, camera systems, or image capture technologies is considered a strong asset, along with excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills.
