JOB DESCRIPTION
Location: Hybrid | Downtown, Toronto
Duration: 6 Months
Our client, a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto, is looking for a Front-End Developer - Angular, NodeJS, Capital Marketsto effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.
Typical Day in role
100% Front end – Angular, Node JS, REST API, WebSocket; Back-end collaboration work with devs
In partnership with GBME Leadership, peer engineers, and business partners, you will:
- Participate in Daily Standups
- Sizing of effort
- Analysis of requirement
- Build the required features
- Build unit and integration tests
- Facilitate the testing with QA team
- Design, deliver and enhance new and current solutions and applications, being committed to writing the most efficient, scalable code possible, and continuously find improvements.
- Improve the end user experience by finding scalable solutions and addressing complex ad hoc queries.
Must Have Skills
- 10+ years of experience in Front-end Web Development (Java Script, HTML, CSS, Node JS)
- 5+ years of experience working with Angular (with versions 11+ and hands-on experience with 18+)
- 4+ years’ experience with REST API and Web Socket
- 2+ Experience with TDD / BDD
- 8+ years’ experience in designing efficient, fast and resilient UI solutions (lazy loading, streaming)
Nice-To-Have Skills
- Knowledge of derivative financial instruments (IR Swaps, Cap/Floor)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience with React
Soft Skills Required
- Excellent communication skills to varying audiences including executive leadership and non-technical resources.
- Team player, able to efficiently interact with different business and technology groups.
- Self-starter, can work with minimal supervision
Education
- Computer Science degree or equivalent.
