We are looking for ahands-on Full-Stack and AI Platform Engineer to take increasing technical ownership of Nabantu Campus.
This is not a conventional developer role focused only on feature delivery or resolving development tickets. The successful candidate will take responsibility for understanding, stabilising, maintaining and evolving an established production platform while leading the structured transition of technical knowledge and capability from our current external development provider into Nabantu.
The role will combine:
Platform architecture and technical due diligence Production support and incident resolution Platform security, reliability and scalability AI development and integration Product and technologyroadmapping Technical documentation and governance External technology-provider oversightThe successful candidate will work closely with Nabantu’sleadership, organisational development, coaching, learning, content and creative teams to translate business requirements and Nabantu’sintellectual property into secure, scalable and differentiated digital experiences.
The current platform uses:
Supabase, including Postgre SQL and Row Level Security The wider technical environment includes server components, server actions, middleware, REST APIs, OAuth, webhooks, Git Hub Actions and third-party integrations.The successful candidate will be expected to understand the existing architecture before introducing material change.
At least seven years’ professional software-development experience. At least threeyearsoperating at mid - senior developer, mid - senior engineer or technical-lead level. Strong practical experience with React, Next.js and Postgre SQL. Demonstrated experience taking ownership of an established production platform or inherited codebase. Experience conducting technical assessments and addressing technical debt. Experience supporting live production systems and resolving complex incidents. Experience contributing to architecture, infrastructure and scalability decisions. Strong experience with APIs, third-party integrations, OAuth, webhooks and version control. Experience with cloud hosting, deployments, monitoring and application security. Practical experience integrating generative AI or large language models into production applications. Experience with AI APIs, prompt workflows, retrieval-augmented generation or AI-enabled product features. Strong debugging, testing, analytical and problem-solving capability. Experience technically overseeing external developers or service providers. Ability to translate business and user requirements into secure and scalable technical solutions. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Advantageous Experience Experience with Supabase, including Postgre SQL and Row Level Security. Experience with Next.js App Router, Server Components, Server Actions and Middleware. Experience with React Query, React Hook Form and Zod. Experience with Trigger.dev. Experience with Sentry, React Email and internationalisation. Experience with Google and Microsoft Calendar APIs. Experience with Microsoft Teams, Google Meet or Zoom integrations. Experience with multi-tenant enterprise platforms. Experience with learning-management, learning-experience, coaching or education-technology platforms. Experience with vector databases, semantic search and AI knowledge systems. Experience with subscription-based or software-as-a-service business models. Knowledge of POPIA, privacy and responsible-AI requirements. Experience operating in a scale-up, entrepreneurial or consulting environment. What We Are Looking ForThe ideal candidate is:
