Senior Full stack AI Developer (Python & Angular/React)

Salary range: 118,700 - 145,100 annually (based on a 35‑hour workweek). Annual bonus target: 12%, with a potential payout of up to double the target, and an Employee Share Purchase Plan that matches 50% of net shares. Pension benefits include guaranteed income for life through a defined‑benefit plan.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate AI solutions tailored to improve business operational processes using FastAPI, ensuring robustness, performance, scalability, reliability, and observability.
  • Ensure seamless integration of AI‑driven solutions with existing insurance operations systems, coordinating with IT, operations, and data science teams.
  • Work closely with data scientists and analysts to ensure AI solutions address business needs, leveraging high‑quality data and strategic alignment.
  • Stay current with advances in software engineering and AI, applying new techniques and methodologies, and contributing to the team’s knowledge base.
  • Own end‑to‑end delivery of features, including data pipelines, models, APIs/services, and front‑end UI.
  • Use CI/CD tools and agile methodology to ensure fast, reliable delivery of features and updates.
  • Act as a technical leader/mentor for squad members and influence the technical roadmap.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum six years of significant development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Python for back‑end development and in front‑end frameworks such as Angular or React.
  • Experience with FastAPI, SQL, automated back‑end and UI testing, and observability practices.
  • Proficiency with cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS), including S3, Snowflake, BigQuery, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, and observability tools.
  • Strong communication skills to translate business problems into technical solutions; proactive, collaborative, and a change agent.
  • Experience with Git for version control, code review, and collaboration.
  • Ability to simplify complex concepts for a non‑technical audience.
  • Strong data‑engineering skills; experience with Databricks, Unity Catalog, and Delta Lake is an asset.
  • Knowledge of GenAI building blocks (prompting, agentic frameworks, evals, guardrails, RAG, embeddings/vectorDBs, model fine‑tuning, graphDB usage with LLMs, MCP, reasoning models).
  • Knowledge of MLOps best practices is an asset.
  • For Quebec‑based candidates, bilingualism (French–English) is required.
  • Eligible to work in Canada.
