Full Stack Developer _Csharp, .NET, Azure, Kubernetes (Contract) - Hybrid/Gauteng - ISB9101681

Our client is seeking a Full Stack Developer (Expert) to join a Software Engineering team at the Group IT Hub South Africa, delivering IT solutions to the global Group.

This role owns platform solution and architecture for the Workspace OS and App Platform, ensuring stable, secure operations of Windows clients and application services across an environment of more than 120,000 devices. It combines hands-on .NET/C# development, cloud-native delivery on Azure, and cross-functional coordination with infrastructure, security, and business partners.

Technical Depth: End-to-end ownership of C#/.NET REST APIs, Azure services, Kubernetes, Docker, and PostGres in a large-scale Windows ecosystem, including software packaging, image creation, and CI/CD with GitHub Enterprise.
Subject Matter Expertise: Expected to act as the best-practice authority for the product, lead architecture reviews, define the technical Endpoint roadmap, and provide guidance to team leaders and lower-level employees on complex solutions.
Delivery & Collaboration: Drives seamless delivery with offshore DevOps providers and external partners while aligning Active Directory, Network, Client, Server, and Hardware teams to business requirements using ITIL and Agile frameworks.

Qualifications & Experience:

• A university degree in a relevant field of study (e.g., computer science, engineering, sciences, etc.) or a comparable qualification 5+ years
• Experience in programming languages Csharp
• Experience with windows desktops and server support
• Experience with Windows Terminal Server
• Experience with software packaging and image creation
• Experience with hardware and software lifecycle
• Experience with ITIL processes (Problem, Incident, Change management)
• Ability of working in teams that consist of several nationalities and cultures

Development & Cloud:

• Experience working as a .NET and Csharp Developer
• Solid experience with developing rest APIs using Csharp and .Net
• Deploying secure Azure Application services, private endpoints etc
• Cloud computing technologies

Key Responsibilities:

• Platform Ownership: Take ownership of a platform solution and architecture, act as the SME (subject matter expert) within other initiatives and projects.
• Partner Management: Collaborate proactively with our offshore DevOps provider and oversee external service partners to ensure the seamless delivery of a stable, secure, and reliable solution.
• Large-Scale Environment: Working in big company environments with more than 120,000 Windows devices.
• Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with cross-functional infrastructure teams-including Active Directory, Multi-factor Authentication, Network, Client, Server, and Hardware-and maintain close alignment with business partners to understand and fulfil their requirements effectively.
• System Integration: Working closely together with other solution owners, with which the self-developed software solution has system interface contracts.
• Technology Leadership: Technology observation of innovations on the relevant platforms.
• Strategy & Planning: Creating plans and strategy for the self-developed software solutions.
• Roadmap Ownership: Define and oversee the technical Endpoint roadmap, translating business needs into technical solutions that are aligned with Vendor and IT inputs.
• Architecture Governance: Lead Architecture reviews and ensure low-level designs are created and up to date.
• Product Development: Take a leading role in development of internal AppStore for all OS devices.
• Cloud Practices: Stay current with best practices for continuous cloud integration and deployment methods.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences (Senior Executives, IT management and developers).
• Operations: Responsible for developing, maintaining, and operating procedures.
• Business Support: Providing advice and support to departments on complex requirements and conducting needs analysis to ensure requirements are met.
• Agile Responsibilities: Any additional responsibilities assigned in the Agile Working Model (AMW) Charter.

Who This Role Would Suit:

You bring 5+ years of full stack engineering experience with deep expertise in Csharp, .NET, Azure, Kubernetes, and PostGres, combined with proven delivery in complex Windows enterprise environments. You're comfortable with software packaging, image creation, Windows Terminal Server, and ITIL processes, and you've operated CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Enterprise, JIRA, and Confluence.

Your working style is collaborative and authoritative. You negotiate technical direction across short-term operational and medium-term tactical issues, guide team leaders, and resolve escalated tasks that require deep product understanding. You communicate effectively with senior executives, IT management, and developers, and you thrive in multicultural, distributed teams.
