Overview:
Our client's retail banking technology group is building a broader development team to deliver digital solutions for retail financial products, including mortgage-pricing capabilities. The team needs a senior full-stack developer who can work across Angular, Java, and AWS, take ownership of features from front end through back end, and use generative AI and custom agents to accelerate delivery, automation, and testing.
This is not a narrowly defined UI or back-end assignment. The successful candidate will bring strong end-to-end engineering judgment, communicate clearly, make practical recommendations, and progress work without waiting for detailed step-by-step direction.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, enhance, and support end-to-end web applications using Angular on the front end and Java on the back end.
- Develop secure, reusable APIs and application services, including AWS-based integrations and serverless components using AWS Lambda.
- Own features across the complete delivery lifecycle, from technical interpretation and solution design through coding, testing, defect resolution, and release readiness.
- Use GitHub Copilot or comparable generative-AI tools effectively throughout the software-development lifecycle.
- Design and build custom AI agents that automate engineering activities, repetitive workflows, test-script generation, and testing support.
- Translate architectural direction into practical implementation decisions and proactively recommend simpler, faster, or more maintainable approaches.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual work, improve developer productivity, and increase solution quality and reusability.
- Create unit and integration tests and collaborate effectively with the separate testing and deployment teams.
- Participate in Agile delivery, estimation, code reviews, technical discussions, documentation, and team knowledge sharing.
- Provide hands-on leadership within the development team while remaining open to feedback, new technologies, and evolving priorities.
Must Haves
- 7+ years of professional development experience delivering production applications as a full-stack developer
- Advanced hands-on Java development experience, including back-end services, API design , integration, error handling, and maintainable application architecture.
- Strong Angular experience building responsive, component-based web applications and integrating them with back-end APIs.
- Practical AWS experience and the ability to work comfortably in an AWS environment, including hands-on knowledge of AWS Lambda .
- Demonstrated use of generative AI in software delivery , including experience creating custom agents rather than only using basic chat or code-completion features.
- Experience creating automated tests and a working understanding of CI/CD concepts and modern source-control practices.
- Experience working in Agile delivery teams and collaborating with architecture, QA, deployment, and business stakeholders.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, ownership, and leadership skills, with a record of progressing work independently.
Nice to have
- Experience productionizing AI-enabled application features or agentic workflows.
- Experience using agents to generate test cases, test scripts, or quality-engineering automation.
- Experience with cloud-native or serverless application patterns beyond AWS Lambda.
- Financial-services experience, particularly within personal banking, lending, mortgages, or pricing; this is helpful but not mandatory.
