Key Responsibilities
Full Stack Development
- Design, develop, and maintain sophisticated front-end and back-end application components using C#, .NET, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3 .
- Build scalable, secure, and high-performing enterprise applications.
- Deliver robust software solutions that meet business, performance, and reliability requirements.
API Development & System Integrations
- Design, develop, and maintain secure and scalable RESTful APIs.
- Lead complex integration initiatives involving third-party platforms, cloud services, and legacy systems.
- Ensure API performance, reliability, and adherence to enterprise security standards.
- Implement and manage authentication and authorization mechanisms, including OAuth2 and OIDC.
Database Development
- Develop, optimise, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database structures.
- Support database design, integration, and performance tuning initiatives.
- Ensure data integrity, scalability, and efficient system performance.
Technical Leadership & Collaboration
- Mentor and support junior and mid-level developers through code reviews, coaching, and knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to architectural discussions, technical design decisions, and development standards.
- Collaborate with product owners, analysts, designers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Promote continuous improvement and technical excellence within the development team.
Quality Assurance & Testing
- Lead peer code reviews and champion clean coding principles and industry best practices.
- Support and oversee unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing initiatives.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across applications and integrations.
- Ensure applications meet quality, security, and performance standards.
Performance Optimisation & Maintenance
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across applications, APIs, and databases.
- Optimise systems for scalability, maintainability, and long-term performance.
- Support ongoing application maintenance and enhancement initiatives.
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including API specifications, architecture diagrams, and integration guides.
- Establish and maintain development standards, best practices, and coding guidelines.
- Promote knowledge sharing and continuous learning across the team.
Required Skills & Experience
Essential Technical Skills
- Expert-level experience with C# in web and enterprise application development.
- Strong expertise in .NET Framework , .NET Core , and ASP.NET Core .
- Advanced TypeScript development experience for scalable front-end applications.
- Strong proficiency in HTML5 and CSS3 .
- Extensive experience designing, building, securing, and scaling RESTful APIs.
- Strong understanding of OAuth2, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and token-based security models.
- Proven experience delivering complex system integrations.
- Advanced SQL development experience, including performance tuning and complex database structures.
- Strong knowledge of Entity Framework or equivalent ORM technologies.
- Sound understanding of secure development principles, including:
- OWASP Top 10
- Secure coding practices
- Secrets management
- Data protection standards
- Regulatory and compliance considerations such as POPIA
Desirable Skills
- Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as:
- Angular
- React
- Vue.js
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as:
- Microsoft Azure
- Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment processes.
- Advanced Git and version control experience within enterprise environments.
- Experience working within Agile development teams.
AI & Emerging Technologies
- Experience integrating Large Language Model (LLM) APIs such as OpenAI or Anthropic.
- Exposure to AI-powered tooling and enterprise AI solutions.
- Familiarity with:
- Agentic AI development patterns
- Tool-use frameworks
- Multi-step AI workflows
- Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations
- Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar technologies.
- Ability to assess and implement AI solutions where they deliver measurable business value.
Qualifications
Preferred
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 6-9 years of professional Full Stack Development experience.
- Minimum 2 years' experience operating at a Senior Developer or Technical Lead level.
- Demonstrated experience developing and supporting enterprise-scale applications and systems.
- Relevant certifications in:
- Microsoft Development Technologies
- .NET
- Cloud Platforms
- Software Architecture
