Role : Senior Full Stack Developer
Contract Length : 6 months (potential for extension)
Hourly Rate : $70-80/hour INC
Location: Downtown Toronto (Hybrid, 3 days onsite)

Your New Role
As a Senior Full Stack Developer, you will join a cross-functional Agile team responsible for designing, building, and enhancing enterprise-grade applications used within the financial services industry. This is a hands-on development role where you'll contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from architecture and coding to testing, automation, and deployment.
You'll work with modern technologies including React, Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, Node.js, PostgreSQL, and AWS while helping drive technical innovation and application evolution.
Key responsibilities include:
- Participating in Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrums, Reviews, and Retrospectives
- Developing front-end and back-end solutions using React, Java, Kotlin, Spring, Hibernate, and Node.js
- Designing and delivering scalable cloud-native and on-premises applications
- Building and maintaining AWS-based solutions and infrastructure
- Performing code reviews and promoting engineering best practices
- Creating automated testing solutions including unit, integration, performance, and load tests
- Collaborating with team members across development, automation, and deployment activities
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and introducing new technologies where appropriate
What You'll Need to Succeed
Must-Have Skills:
- 5+ years of software development experience building enterprise web applications and backend services
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and Node.js
- Strong front-end development experience using React, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Redux
- Strong SQL skills and experience with PostgreSQL
- 3+ years of experience designing, deploying, and supporting solutions in AWS
- Solid understanding of AWS services including:
- ECS / Fargate
- S3
- API Gateway
- IAM
- CloudFormation
- CloudWatch
- Lambda
- Experience working with Docker containers
- Strong understanding of software development fundamentals including debugging, code optimisation, version control, branching strategies, and refactoring
- Experience working within Agile delivery teams
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Python development experience
- Elasticsearch or other NoSQL database experience
- Advanced Kotlin experience
- Experience building highly scalable cloud-native applications
