Role Description

Full Stack Developer – Lead II – Software Engineering. UST is searching for a Full Stack Developer who thrives on building products, not just maintaining them. This role is centered on designing and delivering customer-facing features within the rapidly evolving Canadian Open Banking ecosystem.

The Opportunity

  • Build and ship high-quality features across the stack (frontend + backend) with a strong focus on user experience and performance
  • Design and implement secure, scalable APIs supporting Open Banking use cases
  • Work on authentication and sign‑in flows, including secure user onboarding and consent‑driven data access
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and architects to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Contribute to system design discussions and help shape engineering best practices
  • Continuously improve code quality, performance, and reliability

What You Need

  • Strong experience as a Full Stack Developer with a bias toward feature development
  • Hands‑on experience building and enhancing sign‑in / authentication flows (OAuth, SSO, MFA, etc.)
  • Solid backend development skills (Node.js, Java, or similar) and modern frontend frameworks (React, Angular, or similar)
  • Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and working with microservices architectures
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Strong understanding of secure coding practices, especially in financial or regulated environments
  • Nice to have: Experience in Open Banking, fintech, or financial services; exposure to API standards, consent management, or data‑sharing frameworks; experience working in agile, product‑driven environments

Role Location and Compensation

Ontario

Compensation Range: $104,000 – $130,000

Benefits

  • Full‑time employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, 6 days of paid sick leave each year, paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty
  • All employees are eligible for supplemental health care coverage and company‑paid basic life insurance and accidental death & dismemberment coverage
