Senior Full Stack Engineer | Angular, Python, AWS

We are partnering with a growing startup to find them a Senior Full Stack Engineer to deliver secure, scalable, and user-friendly digital services alongside their energy sector and government partners. This is a great opportunity to build meaningful software that accelerates the transition to renewable energy.

This role requires a hands on engineer who can get up to speed quickly, and deliver end-to-end across Angular (TypeScript), Python services (Flask/FastAPI), and AWS infrastructure. This is a Melbourne-based permanent role, with hybrid work arrangements.

About the role

As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer, you will be delivering secure, performant features end-to-end. Over the next 12 months, the platform will be actively evolving toward an enterprise-grade capability. You will play a meaningful, hands-on role in this evolution by assessing the suitability of existing technologies, defining pragmatic transition paths, and balancing strategic architectural thinking with practical delivery to avoid disruptive rewrites.

The team will rely on you to:

• Deliver features end-to-end across Angular (TypeScript), Python services (Flask/FastAPI), and AWS infrastructure.
• Design and evolve APIs, services, and data models with security, performance, and scalability in mind.
• Contribute to technical direction discussions and document architectural decisions using ADRs.
• Build for operability by integrating logging, monitoring, alerting, and production support readiness.
• Apply secure-by-design principles aligned with SOC 2 and ISO 27001 expectations.
• Maintain high delivery hygiene through code reviews, testing, documentation, and accurate project updates.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, DevSecOps, and Delivery stakeholders to de-risk and deliver outcomes.

Ideally you have:

• 5+ years of experience building production web applications using Angular and Python.
• Strong TypeScript and Angular fundamentals including experience with RxJS and Angular Material.
• Backend development expertise using Python (Flask or FastAPI), REST APIs, and PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including IAM, Lambda/ECS, API Gateway, S3, RDS, and CloudWatch.
• Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform), and containerisation.

Bonus points if you also have:

• A deep understanding of secure application design and compliance-aligned engineering.
• Experience working within the energy, utilities, or government sectors.
