A fast-growing, tech-driven systematic hedge fund is hiring an experienced full stack engineer to build and evolve systems used across the business, particularly by traders and researchers. The work sits close to decision-making, covering internal UIs, data workflows, and backend services that need to be reliable and fast.

In practice, that means building tools people rely on day to day, working with incomplete requirements, iterating quickly based on feedback, and taking ownership of greenfield projects from scratch.

What you’ll be doing

  • Building internal tools in React and TypeScript to explore data and run research workflows
  • Writing backend services in Python or Node that process and serve large, complex datasets
  • Working directly with quants and traders to identify and shape what needs to be built
  • Improving existing systems as much as building new ones, this is not a pure greenfield role
  • Owning what you ship, including performance, edge cases, and long-term reliability

Requirements

  • 6+ years building real-time or production-critical systems
  • Strong React and TypeScript experience, plus a backend language such as Node.js, Next.js, or Python
  • Experience working with data-heavy systems, including relational databases and document stores
  • Track record of owning or contributing to end-to-end full-stack applications

Nice to have

  • Background in trading, research, or another data-intensive environment
  • Experience building internal platforms or tooling
  • Exposure to performance-sensitive systems such as latency, throughput, and reliability
  • Experience with Rust or other lower-level optimisation work
