ABOUT THE CLIENT
I am supporting a SaaS and AI startup that is growing its engineering function on the back of genuine product traction.
The platform sits on modern infrastructure and the team ships quickly. AI capability runs through the product, so full stack engineers here get exposure to the LLM side whether or not they arrive with it.
The team is small enough that individual engineers still influence how things are built.
THE ROLE, FULL STACK ENGINEER
This is a broad product engineering role across the stack.
You will build customer facing features end to end, from data model and API through to interface. You will also work on the surfaces where AI capability meets the product, which is where a lot of the interesting problems sit.
They are flexible on whether your strength is Python or TypeScript. What matters is that you can own a feature properly rather than only one slice of it.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and ship full stack features across the platform
- Design and maintain APIs and backend services
- Build frontend interfaces in a modern framework
- Work with PostgreSQL and design sensible data models
- Integrate AI and LLM capability into product features
- Contribute to CI, CD and cloud infrastructure
- Take part in architecture and technical decisions
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
- Commercial full stack engineering experience
- Strong Python or strong TypeScript, either is fine
- Backend framework experience, FastAPI, Django, Node or similar
- Modern frontend experience, React, Next.js, Vue or similar
- PostgreSQL or comparable relational database
- REST or GraphQL API design
- Cloud experience, AWS, GCP or Azure
DESIRABLE, NOT ESSENTIAL
- LLM or AI integration in a production product, OpenAI, Anthropic or similar APIs
- RAG, embeddings or vector database work
- Both Python and TypeScript
- Docker, Kubernetes or Terraform
- Startup or early stage background
- Product mindset and comfort talking to users
WHAT'S ON OFFER
