An opportunity for an experienced Fullstack developer to join a leading financial institution in Amsterdam.
You will take ownership of solutions from architecture and technical design through deployment and continuous optimisation. This is a senior engineering role for someone who enjoys influencing technical direction, improving engineering standards and supporting the development of other engineers within a highly regulated payments environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build and evolve scalable, resilient payment services and applications.
- Own technical solutions from architecture and design through implementation, deployment and optimisation.
- Develop across the full stack using TypeScript, Node.js, React and Java/Spring Boot.
- Design and maintain production-grade microservices architectures.
- Build cloud-native solutions using AWS services including ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB, SNS and SQS.
- Work with Infrastructure as Code using AWS CloudFormation and AWS CDK.
- Contribute to technical direction and continuously improve engineering quality and development practices.
- Use GitHub, GitHub Actions and AI-assisted development tools as part of the standard engineering workflow.
- Support and mentor fellow engineers while collaborating closely with technical and business stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Senior-level experience developing large-scale digital products or platforms.
- Strong experience within payments, including transaction processing, payment flows, PSD2, acquiring, payment gateways and/or digital wallets.
- Extensive hands-on experience designing and operating microservices in production.
- Strong AWS experience, particularly with CloudFormation, ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB, SNS and SQS.
- Strong development experience with TypeScript, Node.js, React and Java/Spring Boot.
- Experience with AWS CDK and modern cloud-native engineering practices.
- Professional experience with Agentic Engineering or other AI-native software development approaches.
- Daily experience using GitHub Copilot or comparable AI coding tools within a professional engineering team.
- Experience with GitHub Actions and AI-assisted CI/CD or delivery workflows.
- Previous experience within banking and/or fintech.
- A proactive mindset with the confidence to challenge assumptions, drive improvements and communicate clearly with both engineers and stakeholders.
