Role Summary
You will be working in a cross-functional team, using agile methodologies to build on-prem and cloud native applications for the financial services industry.
Responsibilities
- Participate and contribute on all team activities such as Sprint Planning, Sprint Execution, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective.
- Develop front end React components.
- Develop and test server-side code using Node.js + TypeScript.
- Be comfortable using relational databases and have strong knowledge of SQL.
- Perform peer reviews and ensure the quality of the team’s work.
- Design and implement unit, integration, and automation tests.
- Responsible for code integration and code deployment of existing modules as well as provide new pipelines for new modules (CI/CD).
- Have strong background in AWS services and practices.
- Provide technical leadership to other team members.
- Break down complex functionalities into granular tasks and stories.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience with software engineering.
- 3+ years of experience with NodeJS + TypeScript.
- 3+ years of experience with React.
- Experience with Docker.
- Experience developing server-side applications using Node.js frameworks such as or similar to NestJS/Hono.
- Solid understanding of HTML5, ES6, CSS3, JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks.
- Experience with source code management such as GIT.
- Experience with relational databases (ideally PostgreSQL).
- Experience working on Agile teams.
- Solid understanding and demonstrated proficiency with core software development processes – debugging, code tuning, code management and branching, coding styles and refactoring.
- Self‑motivated and driven, with robust analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of the financial industry, specifically accounting/general ledger, will be preferred.
Compensation
Salary/Rate Range: CAD $120,000 $140,000
Other Information
Hybrid: 3 days/week onsite downtown Toronto. 40 hour work week.
