The Opportunity
You'll join a small, high-impact team building and maintaining the risk management platform that client risk teams rely on to monitor and mitigate client-facing exposure across global operations. Your work directly supports margin governance and risk reporting for a business where accuracy and uptime matter every single day. This is a chance to own critical systems end to end rather than just touch a piece of them.
Your Day-to-Day
- Design, develop, and maintain server-side components using Java and the Vert.x framework
- Build and enhance front-end interfaces with Vue.js, HTML, and CSS
- Write and optimize complex Oracle SQL queries, stored procedures, and data models supporting margin rate governance and risk reporting
- Own the full software development lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance
- Monitor system health and performance, catching and resolving production issues before they escalate
- Contribute to code reviews, technical documentation, and knowledge sharing across the team
- Take full ownership of your assigned modules, delivering high-quality work on your own timeline
- Refactor and tune existing systems to keep them fast, stable, and maintainable
- Build your understanding of financial instruments and concepts as you go
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer with a strong Java back-end focus
- Hands-on experience with Vert.x or a similar reactive/event-driven Java framework
- Proficiency in Vue.js, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
- Strong working knowledge of Oracle SQL, including query optimization and schema design
- Solid understanding of RESTful API design and integration
- Experience in financial services or another high-stakes production environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach
- Comfort working independently within a small, collaborative team
- 5-15 years of relevant work experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Information Systems or related field
Preferred:
- Experience with Perl and/or Python for scripting, automation, or data processing
- Familiarity with risk management concepts, margin systems, or financial regulatory frameworks
- Exposure to low-latency or high-availability system design
- Experience in an Agile or iterative development environment
