At Sytac, we build high-performing engineering teams for leading organizations. We combine a pragmatic, people-first culture with technical craftsmanship, giving engineers autonomy in real production environments.
For one of our key clients in the Netherlands, we are looking for a Full Stack Python Developer – Fiscal Web Applications who wants to go deep on complex, meaningful software. You'll be building full stack fiscal web applications in a modern Python-first stack, working within an AI landscape, and joining a team that values code quality, curiosity, and craftsmanship in equal measure.
This is a hands-on developer role, not a lead, not a manager. You write code, you care about quality, and you set the example.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain full stack fiscal web applications using Python and FastAPI as the core backend stack.
- Develop front-end functionality using a HTMX-style framework (fixi.js) with web components and Jinja templating.
- Work with MarkLogic, a NoSQL document database, for data storage and retrieval in complex application contexts.
- Operate within an AI landscape, contributing to or integrating with RAG systems and vector databases where relevant.
- Serve as an example within the team in approach, code quality, and documentation.
- Collaborate in an agile team environment with 60% on-site presence in Amsterdam, including the Wednesday team meeting.
What we're looking for
- Proficiency in a server-side language, Python is the primary stack and FastAPI experience is directly relevant.
- Experience with web development, React, Vue, server-side rendering, or similar; comfort with component-based and templating approaches.
- Experience working with databases as a web developer, NoSQL experience is a strong plus.
- Strong analytical skills, preferably with a formal background in computer science, mathematics, or a related field.
- A real hands-on developer: you write code, take personal responsibility, and lead by example in quality and approach.
- Able to join an existing team working on complex applications and add value from day one.
- A team player who incorporates diverse ideas and perspectives, empathetic towards colleagues and stakeholders.
- Curious about developments in the field and driven to make a meaningful difference.
- Acts with integrity and takes ownership of their work.
Nice to have
- Experience with vector databases and RAG systems.
- Experience with GitHub Actions for CI/CD automation.
- API development experience beyond standard CRUD endpoints.
- Familiarity with fiscal, legal, or compliance-oriented software domains.
