Job Summary:
The Senior Full Stack Software Developer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining complex software applications using both front-end and back-end technologies. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-performance cloud-native web applications compliant with accessibility standards. The developer will work within Agile/Scrum frameworks to implement robust solutions, support continuous integration and deployment pipelines, and provide ongoing application support.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, UX/UI Designers, Product Managers, and Cloud Architects to develop technical specifications and deliver quality software products.
- Design, code, test, debug, and deploy front-end and back-end components including REST APIs and database solutions.
- Create object-oriented UML models and design artefacts to support application architecture.
- Develop cloud-native applications using microservices, API-based models, responsive web design, and serverless architectures.
- Implement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and support automated testing efforts.
- Ensure applications comply with Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
- Provide critical application support including incident investigation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Document system designs, implementation procedures, and operational support instructions.
- Coordinate development activities and provide technical guidance to team members.
- Transfer knowledge to staff and provide post-implementation support.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Proficiency in full stack development including front-end frameworks (React, NEXTJS) and back-end technologies (Node.js, Java, Spring Boot).
- Experience with Entity Framework or other Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) tools.
- Strong skills in JavaScript, TypeScript, SQL, and REST API development.
- Knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and AODA compliance.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure including Azure SQL and PaaS services.
- Competence in version control (Git) and CI/CD pipeline setup and management (Azure DevOps, VSTS/TFS).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with microservices architecture and container-based platforms.
- Knowledge of common React libraries such as Hook Form, React Query, and Zustand.
- Experience in unit testing and test automation frameworks like NUnit, XUnit, MSTest, Karma, Jasmine, or Playwright.
- Familiarity with Java EE technologies (EJB, JSP, Servlets), WebLogic, WebSphere, JBoss, Tomcat, WildFly application servers.
- Experience with NoSQL databases and hierarchical database technologies.
- Exposure to penetration, vulnerability, load, migration, and AODA testing.
Special Considerations:
- Must ensure software solutions are designed for speed, scalability, and accessibility compliance.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary Agile team environment.
- Willingness to provide on-site support and knowledge transfer as needed.
Scheduling:
- Standard full-time work schedule with participation in Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, iteration demos, and review meetings.
- May require coordination for production releases and post-implementation support outside normal hours.
