Bigwig Advertising & Digital is looking for a capable Full-Stack Web & App Developer to join our Adelaide-based digital team.
This is a hands-on development role working across custom WordPress websites, web applications, integrations, support tasks and app-related projects.
We are looking for someone who writes maintainable code, enjoys solving problems properly and wants to keep learning across a broad mix of digital work.
Australian work rights are required for this position.
About the role
You will work closely with our Lead Developer and Digital Director across both new builds and ongoing client work.
Your initial focus will likely be website development and support across active client projects, with the opportunity to grow into broader app, integration and platform work over time.
This role would suit someone who is practical, open-minded, team-focused and comfortable working across multiple projects.
What you'll do
Build and maintain custom WordPress websites, not just page-builder sites.
Work on front-end and back-end website functionality.
Support website updates, bug fixes and production issues.
Work with PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS and modern development workflows.
Assist with React, TypeScript, API, and integration work as required.
Work with designers to turn approved designs into responsive, well-built websites.
Support larger digital projects, web apps, PWAs and app-related systems over time.
Follow Git-based development workflows.
Test work properly before release.
Document work clearly so knowledge is shared across the team.
Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly where appropriate.
What we're looking for
Solid WordPress development experience.
Minimum 2-3 years of WordPress development experience is required.
Strong PHP, JavaScript, HTML and CSS skills.
Intermediate level PHP expertise is required for this role.
Ability to work with custom themes and plugin-based functionality.
Experience with responsive website development.
Experience in troubleshooting websites or web applications.
Working knowledge of Git.
Good attention to detail.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
A practical, maintainable approach to development.
Willingness to learn new tools, systems and frameworks.
Ability to work as part of a small team.
