Fire Test Engineer - Building Products - 1826 - NY

Job Description
- The fire test engineer will be providing testing services to commercial clients for large and small scale fire testing of building materials and assemblies.
- The fire test engineer will primarily be testing areas such as acoustical and structural testing and provide technical services in these same testing areas.
- The position also requires a working knowledge of standard designs, such as those published by UL and others, and construction technologies.
- This position will report to the Manager of Testing Services and Quality.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience fire testing or fire testing building assemblies
- Experience preparing and issuing formal fire test reports for clients
- Experience establishing fire testing, maintenance procedures & policies
Project Management Experience And Strong Client Facing Skills
- Knowledge of standard designs, such as those published by UL
- BS in Engineering
Desired Experience And Skills
- Experience as fire test engineer for gypsum manufacturing
- Experience with LabView
- Experience maintaining quality management systems and IAS and NVLAP accreditations
