Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager, Learner Engagement and supporting the Digital Marketing Team Lead, the incumbent will provide leadership in systems administration, implementation, development and technical support for the College’s enterprise content management system, including WordPress and related components. The role involves business analysis, technical advising, planning and operational work to customize, develop and administer the content management system, ensuring a client‑centric approach that optimizes usability for external clients (students, partners) and internal clients (employees). Key duties include gathering requirements, implementing configuration and code changes, defining workflow and approval processes, documenting system configuration, maintaining and optimizing the platform, providing technical advice and training, and developing training manuals and best‑practice documents. The incumbent will also stay abreast of WordPress releases, recommend new features, and advise marketing and recruitment management teams on implementations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2‑year diploma in Information Technology, Multimedia Development, Web Development, Computer Science or related field (equivalent education and experience may be considered).
  • Five (5) years’ experience in interactive CMS platform development and support.
  • Proficiency in WordPress development, PHP, JavaScript, JQuery, HTML5/XHTML, CSS/SASS, and multimedia.
  • Full‑stack development experience and responsive website development.
  • Experience with e‑commerce platforms/CMS or customizing e‑commerce functionality.
  • Knowledge of AODA, W3C, WCAG 2.0/2.1, WAG, AA, and FIPPA standards.
  • Experience with Salesforce integrations is an asset.
  • Experience working with MySQL, MSSQL or Oracle and strong SQL skills.
  • Familiarity with web transport protocols (AJAX, Web‑hooks, OAuth2, JSON, SOAP, REST).
  • Experience developing data migration and integration solutions.
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics and similar analytics tools.
  • Re‑engineering experience updating existing functionality for enhanced solutions.
  • Planning and implementation of system upgrades and customizations.
  • Strong communication skills for conveying technical concepts to business users.
  • Knowledge of SEO coding best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
  • Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Experience collaborating within a team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with stakeholders to refine requirements.
