About the team

Business Operations is part of the Growth & Go-To-Market domain within the Restaurant Experience tribe. Our mission is to give TheFork's internal users the best possible experience, building the tools that let them work efficiently and grow our restaurant and diner communities.

We focus on four pillars:

  • Billing System: a micro-service architecture managing all booking and subscription flows at TheFork
  • Data Flows: all data exchanges between the Billing System and other internal systems
  • Content Moderation: an internal application used by our Content Moderation team to review and moderate content, with AI-assisted features supporting part of the workflow
  • Internal Portals: the tools internal teams rely on for their daily work

What you'll do

  • Build and ship features across our four pillars (Billing System, Data Flows, Content Moderation, Internal Portals), working within an autonomous squad alongside a dedicated Product Owner and Product Designer.
  • Participate in Product Discovery: work closely with Product and internal stakeholders to understand real user needs before jumping into implementation
  • Design and implement new services and features using our microservices architecture (Node.js/TypeScript, React/GraphQL), following DDD, TDD and BDD best practices
  • Contribute to technical decisions: propose and discuss architecture choices with senior engineers, and don't hesitate to challenge product or technical assumptions when relevant
  • Collaborate with AI tooling (Claude Code) as part of your daily workflow to boost productivity
  • Grow with mentorship: work alongside senior engineers who'll help you level up on architecture, best practices, and product thinking while partnering with our HR team to actively guide your continuous professional growth.

Our stack

  • Back-end: Node.js & TypeScript (plus PHP/Symfony on some legacy components), horizontally scalable microservices serving 11 countries
  • Front-end: React & GraphQL
  • Data: Python & PySpark via AWS Glue
  • Storage: PostgreSQL, Snowflake, MySQL for legacy & SQL
  • Messaging: RabbitMQ as our event bus
  • Observability: Grafana, Datadog (24/7 operations)
  • Infra: 100% Kubernetes & AWS
  • AI tooling: Claude Code assists our engineering workflow

Who you are

  • 2-5 years of experience in Fullstack web development
  • Strong technical foundation and growing familiarity with architectural patterns for large-scale applications (DDD, TDD, BDD)
  • Comfortable taking a product-discovery approach: iterating based on customer input rather than working from a fixed spec
  • Rigorous, curious, and a strong team player who adapts well to a changing environment
  • You see your role as more than writing code: analyzing problems upfront, challenging product and stakeholder decisions when needed, and owning your work through to production — monitoring, documenting, and communicating what's shipped
  • Comfortable working and communicating in English
