2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.

Responsibilities
Google’s software engineers develop next‑generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information. This role focuses on backend, web, and mobile (iOS/Android) platforms to execute projects end to end in the Chat Platform. You will collaborate with Engineering Managers, Team Leaders, Product Leads, and UX to plan, clarify requirements, and implement both server (Java/Kotlin) and client (TypeScript/Java) modifications to make Chat Platform features a reality.
- Design and develop APIs and product enhancements for Chat Platform integrations.
- Work closely alongside EMs, TLs, PMs, and UX to plan and implement projects.
- Collaborate with other engineers in your team, escalating blockers and engaging in their resolution for timely project delivery.
- Triage, debug, and resolve bugs in the Chat Platform product surface.
AI will change the future of work in profound ways, and our products—Gmail, Docs, Drive, Calendar, Sheets, YouTube and Meet—are at the forefront. You will also have opportunities to work with model builders (Google DeepMind) and see impact across billions of users.
Compensation
Canada: $150,000 – $154,000 (CAD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits.
