We are looking for an experienced Freelance Functional Analyst with a strong background in system integration, functional analysis and process modelling.
Responsibilities:
- Gather, analyse and translate business requirements into clear functional specifications.
- Analyse existing applications, systems and integration flows.
- Define functional requirements for system-to-system integrations.
- Design and document data flows, interfaces and integration scenarios.
- Create functional models and process documentation using UML and BPMN.
- Define use cases, sequence diagrams, activity diagrams and data models.
- Work closely with Business Analysts, Developers, Solution Architects and Integration teams.
- Analyse and document API and interface requirements.
- Support the definition and validation of REST/SOAP APIs, web services, messaging and event-driven integrations.
- Perform data mapping and define transformation/business rules between systems.
- Identify dependencies, impacts and potential integration issues.
- Support development teams during implementation and clarify functional requirements.
- Define test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
- Support SIT, UAT and end-to-end integration testing.
- Investigate functional and integration issues and coordinate their resolution.
Required Skills:
- Strong experience as a Functional Analyst, preferably in complex IT environments.
- Strong knowledge of system and application integration.
- Experience with APIs, REST, SOAP, Web Services and interface specifications.
- Understanding of JSON, XML, data mapping and data transformation.
- Knowledge of synchronous and asynchronous integration patterns.
- Understanding of messaging, event-driven architectures and middleware concepts.
- Strong experience with UML: use case, sequence, activity and class diagrams.
- Strong experience with BPMN and business process modelling.
- Ability to translate business needs into detailed and technically understandable functional specifications.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases is a strong asset.
- Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Enterprise Architect, Visio, Draw.io or similar.
- Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with both business and technical stakeholders.
