Description

We are seeking an experienced Informatica ETL Developer to design, develop, and maintain data integration solutions using Informatica PowerCenter and IICS. This is an on-site role based in Sandton, Johannesburg (work from office mandatory). Contract duration is 12 months with potential renewal. Subcontractor budget: R550/hr.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain ETL workflows, mappings, sessions and workflows using Informatica PowerCenter and IICS.
• Extract, transform and load data from multiple source systems into data warehouse solutions.
• Analyze source systems and business requirements to produce efficient ETL designs and specifications.
• Develop reusable transformations and mappings to support maintainability and reuse.
• Perform data validation, reconciliation and ensure data quality across ETL processes.
• Optimize ETL processes for performance, scalability and reliability.
• Troubleshoot ETL failures, resolve production incidents and support deployments.
• Work closely with business analysts, data architects and stakeholders to deliver solutions that meet business needs.
• Implement data integration standards, best practices and governance.
• Document ETL designs, mappings, technical specifications and operational runbooks.

Qualifications

• Typically 5–8+ years of relevant ETL/Informatica development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Informatica PowerCenter and Informatica IICS.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server and Teradata.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts including star schema, fact and dimension modeling and Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD).
• Experience with ETL performance tuning, optimization and handling large datasets.
• Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting.
• Experience with data profiling, data quality processes and tools.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication, stakeholder management and ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
