Position OverviewThis position is for a Senior Platform Engineer. You will be working closely with a talented team to deliver a complex software application into operations. In addition, you'll have the opportunity to grow and hone your skills with other talented members at ARKA. Our ideal candidate is an Infrastructure/DevOps Engineer who is a hard‑charging self‑starter that can come onto a team and begin to produce quickly. You should have a basic understanding of Kubernetes, AWS, containerization, automated test, and deployment pipelines.
Candidates may be considered for sign‑on bonuses up to $35,000 consistent with skills and experience levels.

This position is an on‑site position located in Chantilly, Virginia. Each ARKA location has wonderful attributes as described below.
Required Qualifications- BS in computer science or related engineering field
- 5+ years of Infrastructure/DevOps experience
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and engage with virtual or remote teams
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes and deploying applications to Kubernetes clusters
- Experience with using Helm charts to deploy software to Kubernetes clusters (ie. Argo CD)
- Strong experience with at least one of the major cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure)
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Gitlab, Jenkins, Github Actions, etc)
- Scripting and automation skills (e.g., Bash, Python, GitHub workflows)
- IAT Level II or III certification (i.e. CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CASP+)
- Active TS/SCI security clearance with fully adjudicated Full Scope polygraph
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Scrum and Agile software development methodology
- Experience with container tools (Docker, Podman) and container orchestration
- Experience delivering microservices in Kubernetes‑based systems
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Basic understanding of observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana or similar
