Inline Trainer Lead
The Inline Trainer Lead serves as a liaison between Inline Trainers (Production Associate Trainers) and the Training Department. The Inline Trainer Lead will act as trainer and mentor to the Inline Trainers (Production Associate Trainers) and maintain and manage training compliance, teaching operational standards and driving continuous improvements. They also support production during critical production times as approved by the Training Department Supervisor/Manager and coordinated through the Factory Supervisor. The Inline Trainer Lead reports to the Training Department.
Key Job Accountabilities:
- Act as the main liaison between the Inline Trainers (Production Associate Trainers) and the Training Department, interfacing with the Inline Trainers on a daily basis by providing assistance, training, leading meetings and holding 1:1 meetings as appropriate to ensure they have the proper support.
- Lead and provide training, guidance, and support to Inline Trainers (Production Associate Trainers) to enable them to train Quality, Operational, Technical Function on-the-job training, and Environmental, Health and Safety Standards for applicable employees in their area's core standards and functional specific operations before allowing them to work without direct or supervisory oversight. Escalate any issues to the Production Lead and Training Department Supervisor/Manager for resolution.
- Demonstrate high standards of following written and oral instructions to meet customer demands and production standards per applicable site and corporate training matrices by training others and maintaining proficiency to meet business needs.
- Demonstrate knowledge of manual and automated operations of equipment and processes following training and online Assembly Build Instructions (ABI's) and/or Visual Knowledge Share (VKS) Guidebooks, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Equipment Operating Instructions (EOI's), and Work Instructions (WI's) by training others and maintaining proficiency to ensure all are followed correctly.
- Assist Inline Trainers (Production Associate Trainers) to monitor training delinquency reports in their assigned work area by providing the proper tools and training to ensure applicable employees stay current on processes, procedures, standards, policies, and training for assigned job and operational area, per training matrices.
Education/Experience Qualifications:
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required
- 2 years of related experience is required; 2 years of related experience is preferred
- Inline Trainer Lead should have previous Plexus experience serving as a trainer, peer trainer, or mentor and viewed as a role model among peers
Other Qualifications:
- Must have basic to intermediate knowledge/skills in Google Workspace or MS Office tools, DCS, Cornerstone tasks, Training Delinquency and Forecast Tool, and ABI Programs or VKS Guidebooks
- Strong attention to detail
- Self motivated
- Ability to interpret, receive direction and apply both written and oral communication
- Flexible to quickly adapt to learning new tasks, assisting Inline Trainers to meet changing customer demands
- Flexible and able to work overtime, nights, various shifts and weekends as required
- Flexible to work in multiple areas as required
- Demonstrated competencies in: leadership, teamwork, professional demeanor, quality, job knowledge, communication, problem solving and lean principles, flexibility, attendance and timeliness
Physical Requirements:
- Use of General Manufacturing tools and equipment. Specific area training must be completed to train in any area. The time frame to complete assigned training will be defined by the Training Manager/Supervisor (See Training Matrices). Able to alternate or be able to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time Able to lift, reach, push, pull up to 45 pounds as required Able and willing to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment as required Materials worked with include, but are not limited to: isopropyl alcohol, flux, thinner, thermal compounds, solder (lead and lead free), epoxy, solder wicks, conformal coatings, and other materials as needed
