Title: Integration Developer (Java) Location: Remote (NY) Duration: 12 Months
Position Overview
A leading public-sector data organization is seeking an experienced Integration Developer to support the implementation and maintenance of complex data engineering solutions. The team focuses on improving operational efficiency, enhancing data accessibility, and advancing enterprise data infrastructure and integration.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java-based application development, data integration, and modern architecture practices.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain Java-based front-end and back-end applications.
Build custom code and web services to enable seamless system integrations.
Support both new technology initiatives and existing applications (operations & maintenance).
Perform unit testing and assist with system testing activities.
Troubleshoot and resolve application defects and system issues.
Create and maintain technical documentation, including data dictionaries, mappings, and database standards.
Manage and maintain source code repositories.
Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with application security and accreditation standards.
Required Skills & Experience
8+ years of experience in application development using Java Spring Boot.
Strong knowledge of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
Extensive experience with SOAP and RESTful web services.
8+ years of experience in SQL development.
Proven experience in data manipulation, transformation, and automation of manual processes.
Hands-on experience with Master Data Management (MDM) tools and concepts.
Strong understanding of relational databases and data modeling.
Experience building cloud-ready applications.
Experience with RabbitMQ.
Experience creating and working with WSDLs.
Preferred Skills
Experience with ETL tools.
Experience with Oracle (10g/11g), SQL Server, or similar database platforms.
Familiarity with metadata-driven reporting platforms.
Knowledge of Python, JavaScript frameworks (Vue.js, React.js), Node.js, Express.js.
Understanding of 3-tier architecture.
Experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, RDS.
Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Snowflake.
Experience with Agile development methodologies.
Familiarity with version control tools such as Git, GitHub, or Subversion.
