Probationary Analyst for the Office of Inspector General

Job Description

Provides skilled analytical support to the OIG and assists in the planning, coordinating, and documenting of investigations, audits and evaluations. Work includes analyzing data from a variety of sources to develop trends, patterns, profiles, estimates, studies, and tactical information utilizing established intelligence techniques. Work also includes conducting highly complex analyses which may impact other cases; city wide; and related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications

EITHER 1. A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.* AND 2. One (1) year of professional experience conducting research and/or evaluations including data collection and analysis; producing written reports that include conclusions drawn from the analysis and/or evidence compiled; and using technology such as Word, Excel, and/or Access to organize, analyze, and present data and evidence. OR 1. A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university*. AND 2. One (1) year of experience in an Office of Inspector General conducting research and/or evaluations including data collection and analysis; producing written reports that include conclusions drawn from the analysis and/or evidence compiled; and using technology such as Word, Excel, and/or Access to organize, analyze, and present data and evidence. * Prior to appointment, the hiring agency is required to verify education and driver's license claimed by the applicant to qualify for this classification. If selected for hire, applicants must provide original documents of their qualifying credentials to the hiring agency prior to their start date in this job classification.

Kind of Examination

A written examination, weighted 100%. The written test is designed to measure: Basic Management Principles, Decision-Making and Organizing, Interpersonal Skills, Written Communication, and Mathematics. A urinalysis test to detect illegal drug usage. Note : A background investigation will be conducted. This is an original entrance examination.
