About the role
In this role, you will help us untangle the critical data pipelines that keep our client's business running. When a financial transaction or record gets stuck between systems, operators often have to dig through multiple databases or wait for nightly reconciliations to see what went wrong. You will help build and clean up the user interfaces and dashboards that expose these underlying issues in real time. This means opening the system to see how data flows, finding where the routing rules are failing, and helping to present that information clearly to the people who need it. It is a highly practical internship where you will see the immediate results of your code on daily operations.
What you will be doing
- Reviewing system logs to trace the problem when data fails to move between APIs.
- Updating internal dashboard screens to make error states and stuck files visible to operators.
- Testing simple routing rules to ensure data reaches the correct destination database.
- Working with database query tools to ensure our dashboards display the actual source of truth for each transaction.
- Drafting clear, step-by-step documentation for how to resolve common interface mismatches.
- Reviewing daily reconciliation reports to spot where automated data pipelines are drifting.
- Clearing outstanding front-end backlogs by squashing system bugs reported directly by operators.
- Modifying basic front‑end components using clean HTML, CSS, and lightweight JavaScript.
What we need from you
- A solid baseline of HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript.
- Familiarity with how APIs work and how web applications send and receive data.
- A strong attention to detail, especially when checking configuration files and server response codes.
- The ability to write clear, simple explanations of technical problems for both developers and non‑technical operators.
- An interest in operational details and finding out why a system is not behaving as expected.
- Availability to participate in our hybrid work schedule, including our in‑person collaboration sessions.
Helpful background
- Some exposure to databases and writing basic SQL queries to retrieve information.
- Previous coursework or projects involving data visualization or building simple admin panels.
- An interest in financial systems or basic accounting workflows.
What the role offers
- Attractive, competitive pay for this internship role.
- Direct mentorship from experienced systems developers who value clean, functional code.
- Practical experience working on a large‑scale system with a major corporate client.
- A balanced hybrid working environment that combines quiet focused time at home with collaborative team days.
- A clear path to learn how modern operations pipelines are designed, monitored, and maintained.
