Intermediate cloud security engineer

Overview

We are seeking an Intermediate Cloud Security Engineer to join our team and strengthen our cloud security posture. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in AWS security services, with a focus on native firewalls, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), DDo S mitigation, and authentication mechanisms. This role requires hands-on experience in large enterprise environments, and driving automation within the security cluster, particularly in AWS.

Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and manage cloud-native security controls within AWS. Configure and maintain firewalls, WAFs, and DDo S protection to safeguard applications and infrastructure. Develop and enforce authentication and access management policies across cloud environments. Collaborate with enterprise teams to automate security processes, ensuring scalability and compliance. Monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents in cloud environments. Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and penetration testing to identify vulnerabilities. Provide technical guidance to development and operations teams on secure cloud practices. Skills & Experience Strong hands-on experience with AWS security services. Expertise in native firewalls, WAF configuration, and DDo S mitigation strategies. Solid understanding of authentication protocols and identity management. Proven track record of working in large enterprise environments, with a focus on automation in cloud security. Familiarity with cloud-native security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, CIS benchmarks). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Qualifications Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. Relevant cloud security certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Security – Specialty, CISSP, CISM) will be advantageous.
