About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a backend-leaning Full-Stack Engineer to join a specialist fintech organisation building cloud-based payment intelligence and AI-enabled data products. You will take meaningful ownership of vertical product changes, working within a high-impact team to turn complex financial data into actionable insights for global financial institutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver end-to-end product changes across data models, Python services, and React interfaces.
- Build and maintain robust Python/FastAPI APIs and data-processing workflows for internal and customer-facing products.
- Develop and manage analytical transformations, schema migrations, and high-precision SQL to ensure data integrity for financial reporting.
- Create intuitive TypeScript/React front-end experiences for dashboards, filters, and operational tools.
- Deploy and troubleshoot cloud services on AWS using infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines.
- Integrate and oversee AI-backed product capabilities responsibly, ensuring human oversight and rigorous evaluation.
- Strengthen technical documentation, runbooks, and testing frameworks while communicating technical trade-offs to various stakeholders.
Requirements
- Approximately 35 years of professional experience in software engineering with a proven track record of delivering production-ready changes.
- Strong proficiency in Python and a solid understanding of SQL and data modelling.
- Competency in TypeScript and React, with the ability to build and debug modern product interfaces.
- Practical experience deploying software on AWS or similar cloud environments using Git and CI/CD tools.
- A disciplined approach to security, testing, and data privacy, particularly within a regulated financial context.
- Proficiency in using AI development tools (coding agents and LLMs) while maintaining accountability for code maintainability and correctness.
- Previous experience or exposure to FastAPI, Snowflake, dbt, or serverless AWS services (Lambda, S3, Cognito) is highly advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work autonomously in a remote, agile environment.
