Intermediate Python Developer

Key Responsibilities

Develop, enhance, and maintain backend applications using Python, ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable, and high-performing.
Design, build, and support RESTful APIs to facilitate seamless integration with internal systems and third-party platforms.
Manage and optimize MySQL databases, including database design, query development, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, product owners, and stakeholders, to deliver integrated software solutions.
Diagnose and resolve complex application, database, and system issues within Linux-based environments.
Conduct code reviews, promote best development practices, and mentor junior team members to support their technical growth.
Contribute to system architecture and technical design discussions, providing expert guidance on development approaches and technology decisions.
Ensure code quality, maintainability, security, and performance through adherence to established development standards and methodologies.

Required Skills

Strong Python Development Expertise: Demonstrated experience developing, testing, and deploying Python applications, with a proven ability to deliver high-quality, maintainable software solutions.
API Development: Solid experience designing, building, and supporting RESTful APIs, with a strong understanding of API security, performance, scalability, and best practices.
Backend Development & System Architecture: In-depth knowledge of backend technologies, system design principles, and distributed architectures, including experience developing microservices and server-side applications.
MySQL Database Proficiency: Practical experience working with MySQL databases, including database design, schema management, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.
Linux Administration & Support: Hands-on experience working in Linux-based environments for development, deployment, and troubleshooting, with knowledge of shell scripting and system diagnostics.
Version Control: Strong proficiency in Git and source control best practices, including branching strategies, code merging, and collaborative development workflows.
Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities, with the capacity to identify root causes and implement effective technical solutions.
Collaboration & Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Skills

Containerization Technologies: Experience working with containerization tools such as Docker, including building, deploying, and managing containerized applications.
Cloud Platforms: Exposure to cloud-based environments such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with an understanding of cloud-native development principles.
Messaging and Event-Driven Systems: Familiarity with message broker technologies such as RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka, or similar platforms used to support scalable and distributed applications.
Agile Methodologies: Experience working within Agile development environments, including participation in Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and iterative software delivery.
DevOps Practices: Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and modern software delivery practices would be advantageous.
Continuous Learning Mindset: A passion for staying up to date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and software development best practices.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
Minimum of 5 years professional software development experience, with a strong track record of designing and delivering enterprise-grade applications.
At least 3 years of hands-on Python development experience, including backend application development and API integration.
Minimum of 3 years experience working with MySQL databases, including database design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
Minimum of 2 years experience working with AWS cloud services, supporting the development, deployment, and maintenance of cloud-based applications.
Minimum of 2 years experience using Docker to build, deploy, and manage containerized applications.
Demonstrated ability to work in collaborative development environments and contribute to the delivery of scalable, high-quality software solutions.
