Java & Api Application Support Engineer - Ams (Xico)

Responsibilities
Maintain and optimize high‐traffic internet site communications and network‐based product systems.
Engineer scalable local and wide‐area network solutions, including IP and VOIP platforms.
Install, configure, and troubleshoot routers, switches, and other network infrastructure in collaboration with vendors.
Develop automation tools for network system deployment, administration, and monitoring.
Participate in project planning and implementation and provide technical input to proposal writing.
Collaborate with development and systems teams to fine‐tune operability, conduct rigorous tests, and ensure network redundancy and resilience.
Provide on‐call coverage as required, addressing incidents, implementing changes, and investigating critical issues.
Conduct system reviews, recommend technology best practices, and act as a trusted advisor to customers.
Qualifications
Minimum 8 years of technical support or development experience with Java technologies.
Strong knowledge of Windows, Linux, Unix operating systems and command‐line tools.
Proficient in networking concepts, protocols, and information security principles.
Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, PL/SQL (Oracle 11+).
Programming skills in JSP, Java, C, HTML, JavaScript; experience with Spring, Spring MVC, Struts, Hibernate.
Familiarity with RESTful APIs, OpenAPI, SOA, OAuth, and integration tools such as Maven and Anypoint.
Experience using support tools like Jira, ServiceNow, Control‐M and version control systems Git/Bitbucket.
Excellent diagnostic, decision‐making, and performance under pressure.
Strong communication skills with both technical and non‐technical audiences.
Ability to manage expectations and provide effective customer support.
Time‐management skills to prioritize tasks and handle multiple incidents simultaneously.
Fluency in Spanish (100%) and basic proficiency in English.
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
Preferred: Java certification or other technology certifications (Microsoft, ITIL).
Availability for rotating shifts and after‐hours support (24/7 service).
