Job Summary (Java API Developer - Southlake, TX, Hybrid, 6+ Month Contract):
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based web and service applications using Java/Spring technologies.
- Build highly fault-tolerant and scalable backend systems.
- Participate in collaborative architecture and design sessions for applications and platforms.
- Conduct and support thorough testing, including service/API testing and automation.
- Apply strong problem-solving and analytical skills to deliver robust solutions.
- Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Work cross-functionally and build effective relationships across various teams and organizational levels.
- Utilize experience with frameworks such as Spring Boot, Hibernate, and tools such as UML.
- Leverage knowledge of cloud technologies (e.g., Pivotal Cloud Foundry) and enterprise messaging platforms (e.g., WMQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka).
- Develop and maintain distributed multi-tier applications, working with both NoSQL (MongoDB) and relational databases (Oracle/SQL).
- Utilize REST API testing tools (e.g., SOAPUI, Advanced REST Client) and test automation frameworks (e.g., Cucumber, Gherkin, Selenium, Appium).
- Participate in CI/CD processes using tools like Bamboo, Zephyr, Bitbucket, Shell Scripting, and Splunk.
- Apply AI experience where required for solution development.
- Must have 7+ years of professional Java web and service development experience.
- Strong interpersonal and people skills, with the ability to work in a hybrid environment in Southlake, TX.
