Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Java API Performance Developer with strong expertise in enterprise backend development, distributed systems, API performance engineering, and Capital Markets post-trade platforms.

This role focuses on designing, developing, and enhancing a strategic Trade Confirmations Platform supporting OTC Derivatives and FX post-trade operations. The ideal candidate will possess deep hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, scalable microservices architectures, and high-performance distributed systems.

The candidate will play a key role in building robust confirmation processing solutions across e-Signature, SWIFT, and electronic confirmation channels while ensuring system scalability, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and low-latency performance.

This role also encourages leveraging Agentic AI tools and AI-assisted development practices to improve engineering productivity and accelerate delivery timelines.

Key Responsibilities Backend Development & API Engineering

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using:

  • Java

  • Spring Boot

  • RESTful APIs

  • Microservices Architecture

• Build high-performance distributed systems supporting Capital Markets post-trade workflows

• Develop scalable event-driven integration solutions leveraging:

  • Kafka

  • Messaging systems

  • Enterprise integration patterns

Trade Confirmations Platform Development

• Enhance and support Trade Confirmations platforms for:

  • OTC Derivatives

  • FX products

  • Electronic confirmation workflows

• Build high-performance components supporting:

  • e-Signature platforms

  • SWIFT messaging

  • Electronic confirmations channels

• Ensure scalability, resiliency, reconciliation, and operational continuity across enterprise post-trade systems

API Performance & Scalability Engineering

• Optimize API performance, throughput, and low-latency processing capabilities

• Design scalable backend architectures supporting high-volume transaction processing

• Conduct performance testing, tuning, and bottleneck analysis using:

  • JMeter

  • BlazeMeter

• Implement caching strategies and performance optimizations using Redis

Database & Distributed Systems Engineering

• Work with enterprise databases including:

  • Oracle

  • MS SQL Server

  • Redis

• Support scalable data processing and distributed system architectures

• Ensure data integrity, reliability, and high availability across services

AI-Assisted Engineering & Automation

• Leverage Agentic AI tools and AI-assisted development practices to improve engineering productivity

• Contribute to automation, modernization, and intelligent workflow initiatives

• Support AI-driven SDLC acceleration and engineering best practices

Risk, Compliance & Operational Excellence

• Ensure systems comply with:

  • Regulatory standards

  • Operational controls

  • Risk management frameworks

• Support production stability, monitoring, troubleshooting, and issue resolution

• Collaborate with Operations, Compliance, Finance, and Engineering teams to deliver enterprise-grade solutions

Required Qualifications

• 8+ to 10+ years of overall IT experience

• Strong hands-on expertise with:

  • Java

  • Spring Boot

  • RESTful APIs

  • Microservices Architecture

• Experience with:

  • Kafka

  • Messaging platforms

  • Distributed systems

  • Event-driven architectures

• Strong database expertise with:

  • Oracle

  • MS SQL Server

  • Redis

• Experience building enterprise-grade backend systems and scalable APIs

• Strong understanding of API performance optimization and distributed application scalability

• Experience working within Capital Markets or Investment Banking environments preferred
