Job Description Our client, a major eCommerce player based in St. Gallen, is looking for a Java Application Developer/SAP Hybris to join their team on a permanent basis.
Tasks and responsibilities :
- Build, maintain, and continuously improve the Java-based online shop backend running on the SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris) platform.
- Act as technical owner for the software components under your responsibility, covering everything from design and implementation to go-live and ongoing operational support.
- Design and roll out new features, and connect third-party systems and services (such as PIM, ERP, payment, and fulfilment tools), working closely with business stakeholders, external partners, and the Product Owner.
- Keep the e-commerce platform reliable, performant, and scalable by applying sound, modern architectural practices.
- Keep technical documentation up to date, handle 2nd-level support requests, and liaise with internal and external teams to keep the platform running smoothly and evolving over time.
Requirements
- Solid background in object-oriented Java development, with practical experience on SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris), including customising and building extensions on top of the existing setup.
- Good grasp of current web and backend technologies (Spring Framework, REST APIs), plus comfort working with relational databases like MySQL and SAP HANA.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, and experience working within agile setups (Scrum, Kanban).
- Strong grounding in e-commerce workflows and the systems around them : PIM, ERP, payment processing, and fulfilment.
- Fluent English, and German at B2 level.
