Role Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Java Technical Lead with 12+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise application development and production support. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Java technologies, enterprise application support, SSL/TLS security, SOAP and REST services, Unix/Linux environments, database troubleshooting, and technical leadership. This role requires ownership of mission-critical applications and the ability to guide teams through complex technical and production challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development, maintenance, and support of enterprise applications.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development and support teams.
Support mission-critical applications in complex enterprise environments.
Manage production support activities, including incident triage, root cause analysis, and issue resolution.
Ensure end-to-end operational ownership of applications and services.
Debug, enhance, and optimize legacy Java applications.
Support and troubleshoot batch-intensive processing environments.
Execute and troubleshoot shell scripts, database procedures, and queries.
Design and document technical, logical, sequence, and architecture diagrams.
Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and support teams to resolve complex issues.
Ensure application stability, performance, scalability, and security.
Required Skills
Java & Framework Expertise
Strong hands-on experience with:
Java 8
Java 17
Solid experience with Spring Framework (legacy applications).
Ability to debug, enhance, and optimize legacy Java codebases.
Security & SSL
In-depth knowledge of SSL/TLS concepts.
Strong hands-on experience with:
- Server Certificates
- Client Certificates
- CA Certificates
- Keystores
- Truststores
Experience with SSL configuration and troubleshooting in enterprise applications.
Service Technologies
Strong expertise in SOAP Web Services.
Deep understanding of RESTful Services, including:
- JAX-RS
- Jersey
-Modern REST architectures
Strong understanding of service design, integration, and backward compatibility.
Application Support & Batch Processing
Extensive production support experience.
Strong knowledge of:
- Incident management
- Root cause analysis
- Problem resolution
- Operational support processes
Experience supporting batch-intensive environments, including:
- Job scheduling
- Monitoring
- Troubleshooting
- High-volume batch processing
Database Skills
Strong SQL and database fundamentals.
Experience with:
- Stored procedures
- Query optimization
- Database performance tuning
- Database troubleshooting
Unix/Linux & Scripting
Strong Unix/Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
Hands-on experience with:
- Shell Scripting
- Korn Shell (KSH)
- AWK
- Perl
Architecture & Technical Design
Ability to create and maintain:
- Technical Diagrams
- Logical Diagrams
- Sequence Diagrams
- Architecture Diagrams
Ability to clearly document system flows, integrations, dependencies, and technical designs.
Leadership & Collaboration
Proven technical leadership experience in enterprise environments.
Ability to mentor and guide team members through complex production issues.
Strong collaboration skills across development, support, QA, infrastructure, and business teams.
Capability to remove technical roadblocks and drive resolution of critical issues.
Preferred Skills
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
