IDR is seeking a Java Application Support Engineer to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Indianapolis, IN. In this role, you will provide hands-on L2 application and production support for enterprise applications, partnering closely with technical teams and client stakeholders to ensure stable day-to-day operations. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute within a large, complex environment where strong troubleshooting and ITSM process expertise are highly valued.
Position Overview for the Java Application Support Engineer:
- Provide hands-on L2 production support for enterprise Java and AngularJS applications during U.S. business hours
- Troubleshoot incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate technical fixes through resolution
- Use ServiceNow to manage ticket intake, prioritization, escalation, and ITSM workflows
- Partner with development and infrastructure teams to resolve complex production issues and improve application stability
- Communicate clearly with client stakeholders and support a hybrid onsite schedule (approximately 3050%)
Requirements for the Java Application Support Engineer:
- Advanced L2 application/production support experience for enterprise applications
- Advanced Java engineering experience with strong troubleshooting skills
- Advanced AngularJS experience supporting production systems
- Advanced ServiceNow experience, including ITSM ticketing and workflow usage
- Strong ITSM process knowledge, including incident and problem management with client-facing communication skills
