Job Description:
As a Java Architect & Program Manager, you will provide technical leadership and drive the successful delivery of complex software development programs. You will bridge engineering and business teams, guiding architecture decisions, managing cross-functional initiatives, and ensuring scalable, high-quality solutions aligned with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of complex software development programs.
- Provide technical leadership on Java-based architectures, integrations, and application modernization initiatives.
- Identify, manage, and mitigate technical risks, dependencies, and delivery challenges.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.
- Drive architecture reviews and ensure solutions align with long-term business and technology strategies.
- Establish program governance, KPIs, dashboards, and executive reporting processes.
- Support CI/CD, deployment automation, observability, and DevOps best practices.
- Champion adoption of microservices, cloud-native technologies, containerization, and automated testing.
- Facilitate communication between technical teams and executive stakeholders.
- Mentor teams and promote engineering excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 8+ years of project/program management experience.
- Strong hands-on background in Java application development and technical leadership roles.
- Experience leading large-scale, cross-functional software development programs.
- Deep understanding of software architecture, system integrations, dependency management, and SDLC best practices.
- Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, release management, and engineering toolchains.
- Knowledge of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and modern integration patterns.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong stakeholder management, executive communication, and organizational leadership skills.
- Proven ability to manage risks, complex dependencies, budgets, schedules, and delivery roadmaps.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, and team mentoring capabilities.
The hourly range for roles of this nature are $60.00 to $90.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
