AODocs is a software company created in 2012 that makes a Content Services Saa S platform. It is included by Gartner (in its Magic Quadrant) and Forrester (in its Wave) as one of the top and most innovative players in the content services space, competing with legacy on‑premises solutions from IBM File Net, Documentum, and Open Text that are approaching the end of life. Many customers of these legacy products are looking to replace them with a modern Saa S solution like AODocs.
Our product is used by large organizations such as Google, Veolia, and Colgate to control critical documents, protect them against costly human errors, and accelerate key business processes. The main use cases are document control for large engineering projects, standard operating procedures, quality management, consulting and audit reports, and other business processes that involve important documents in professional services, healthcare, HR, procurement, legal, and more.
The PositionWe are looking for a highly motivated Backend Engineer to join our growing team. The Backend Engineer will drive end‑to‑end development of core parts of our web applications, help elevate our product and our engineering practices, and teach the team new techniques. You will work closely with Product and Frontend teams, sometimes in squads, and with ad‑hoc teams to address specific challenges.

Core Responsibilities Implement substantial features and fix bugs. Participate in operations to maintain a 99.87% uptime. Write technical specifications. Proactively propose code and performance improvements. Help set and uphold a high professional standard. Help build and evolve our architecture. Examples of What You Could Work On Build new services planned for this year, such as integrations with SAP, Salesforce, and data‑centered services for OCR and data recognition. Implement Office 365 and other Microsoft product integrations, including Teams. Develop the backend that enables encrypted files at rest and in transit. Reduce technical debt, decrease dependency on App Engine, and plan migration to a newer Java version. Improve search capabilities and the workflow engine. Identify and fix bottlenecks that slow the release cycle. Recent Accomplishments (Last Few Months) Added a new identity system allowing users to log in with Microsoft accounts and soon with normal emails and passwords. Extended storage capacity to Google Cloud Storage. Built Gmail add‑on and Outlook add‑in, enabling users to use AODocs without leaving their email client. Finished the Switcher, an automatic migration tool for moving data from Drive to GCS. Implemented an object storage service as a middle layer between AODocs and external storage providers. What You Bring Experience: 8+ years as a professional developer on Saa S products. Deep, hands‑on expertise in Java and the Spring/Spring Boot ecosystem. Experience with cloud providers is a plus. Proficiency in at least one of Python, Go, Ruby, C++, or C# is an advantage. Strong command of development tools such as Git (gitflow), Jira, Maven, and Intelli J. Team player who cares about building reliable software for many users rather than flashy, unstable features. Passion for performance, understanding that speed and responsiveness are core features.
