We are looking for a Senior Java Backend Engineer (German Speaker) with 5+ years of experience to join a new cloud-native project in a complex enterprise environment.

You will work with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes, AWS, and Azure, contributing to scalable and secure backend systems in a distributed architecture.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop cloud-native backend services using Java (Mainline) and Spring Boot on a Cloud Foundry-based PaaS platform.
• Deploy and manage applications across data centers (CRZ & CnRZ) and Public Cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
• Work with Kubernetes/CaaS for containerized and stateful workloads when required.
• Implement scalable data solutions using PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and object storage technologies.
• Build and integrate REST APIs via API Gateway and implement asynchronous messaging with Kafka and RabbitMQ.
• Ensure secure communication (WAF) and contribute to modern observability practices using Splunk, Grafana Cloud (OpenTelemetry), and Icinga.
• Contribute to a scalable microservices architecture following cloud-native best practices.

Requirements:

Must Have Skills:

• 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer
• Strong experience with Java
• Solid experience with Spring Boot
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB
• Experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ
• Experience working in microservices architectures
• Understanding of distributed systems
• At least B2 German Level

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Hexagonal Architecture
• Experience in cloud-native environments (Cloud Foundry / Kubernetes)
• Experience in financial or accounting systems
